Early in the morning sunlight
Soaring on the wings of dawn
Here I'll live and die with my wings in the sky
And I won't come down no more
Higher than a bird I'm flying
Crimson skies of ice and fire
Borne on wings of steel I have so much to feel
And I won't come down no more
Sail on, sail on, I will rise each day to meet the dawn
So high, so high
I've climbed the mountains of the sky
Without my wings you know I'd surely die
I found my freedom flyin' high
I've climbed the mountains of the sky
Floating on a cloud of amber
Searching for the rainbow's end
Earth so far below me,
I'm here alone, free
I can't come down no more

Problem is, outside of "Dust in the Wind" and "Carry on" most classic rock fans have no idea who Kansas was and what they accomplished musically. Of all the prog rock bands of the 70s', it could be argued that Kansas was the best at balancing the necessary commerical hits which record companies demanded while maintaining an incredible repertoire of progressive rock musicianship. This was a feat MUCH harder to pull off in 1975 than the early 70's in the hayday of Genesis & Yes.

My favorite classic rock band that I started listening to since 1979. I had all their records. Saw them live on their Vinyl Confessions tour in 82'. Great song.

What's the source of this? ..."Rock Concert!!" of course but I mean is it out on DVD? This sounds so good seems it almost has to come from an official release. If a whole concert was filmed but only what was aired still exists, that would be a shame. (Don Kershner's own label so hopefully it's all at least in a vault somewhere.)
Saw these boys in the high & magic summer of 1978. Great experience.
One of several in those years. Back when concerts *were* an experience.
